Visit Gaudí’s Crypt by train from Plaza España FGC station and explore its unique heritage with an audio guide. The site, Colonia Güell, was initiated in 1890 by entrepreneur Eusebio Güell, who aimed to improve his workers' social conditions with cultural and religious facilities. In 1898, architect Antonio Gaudí was commissioned to design the church, with construction starting in 1908. However, following Güell’s death, financial support dwindled, leaving the project unfinished. Despite its incomplete status, the church showcases all of Gaudí's architectural innovations and inspired the design of the Sagrada Familia. The Crypt was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005.
